Project Overview

DPS was engaged as Principal Contractor to deliver a full re-roof of an operational primary school, including the safe removal of existing asbestos roofing materials.

Working within a school environment required careful planning, staged delivery and strict health and safety controls to ensure the safety of the school and the wider community at all times. Our team implemented comprehensive asbestos management procedures, including licensed removal, air monitoring and certified disposal, in full compliance with WorkSafe NZ regulations.

The project involved the removal of the existing asbestos, remediation of affected areas, and installation of a new roofing materials designed for durability and long-term performance. Insulation was upgraded to meet current Building Code requirements, improving thermal efficiency across the school facilities.

Clear communication with school leadership and stakeholders was maintained throughout the project, with works carefully programmed around school activities to minimise disruption.

The project was successfully delivered on time, with full asbestos clearance certification and complete compliance documentation provided at handover, ensuring a safe, modern and future-proofed learning environment.
