Project Overview

DPS was engaged by our client as the main contractor to deliver a comprehensive canopy roof replacement and structural refurbishment at an operational service station.

Working within a live retail environment, the project presented significant challenges around public safety, traffic management, and maintaining uninterrupted trading activities. Through detailed staging, exclusion zone management, and close coordination with the client and stakeholders, all works were completed while ensuring the safety of customers, staff, and contractors at every stage.

The project commenced with the decommissioning of canopy services and a thorough structural assessment by engineers to verify the integrity and suitability of the existing steel structure. Following engineering review, DPS undertook extensive preparation works, including high-pressure water blasting, surface preparation, and application of a specification coating system to both the canopy structure and supporting columns, giving the steelwork a complete transformation and extending its service life.

The existing canopy roofing and underslung roof system were then carefully removed and replaced. To enhance the structural performance of the canopy, existing purlins were replaced along with new flashings, and weatherproofing components throughout.
